1962 Safari plywood dimensions

Hello, I have searched the archives and have not found any specific floor measurement data. I have the shell off of our Safari and we are building a new frame due to extensive rust. My trailer did not come with any flooring that I can use as a pattern. Does anyone know the length and width of the plywood subfloor for a 1962 Safari? I found some data on the width being 88 inches. I am missing the length measurement for all the plywood laid flat on the trailer.

Well, we know the shell has to sit on the plywood and we don't want plywood sticking out from under the shell. So I wonder if you could use your shell as the "template" to measure widths and lengths? Some folks use the shell as the template for drawing the compound radius at the corners. Hopefully the "c-channel" is still riveted to the shell as it gives the structure some rigidity.

I bet others will chime in on how to recreate the plywood subfloor when a guy doesn't have one in the first place.

thank you, I do not have any C-channel either. The shell kind of "floats" so it might be a bit difficult to use as a template.

Oh I see. You might try calling customer service at the Jackson Center factory and see if they might copy a drawing of the trailer's body and c channel dimensions.

I did find this information in the Airstream Corp website and then the Airstream Documentation section. Airstream scanned in many of the sales brochures and specifications for the different years and models. Click on the 62 Safari and you will find some detailed dimensions. But I don't know if that is enough to make a new c channel that helps hold the correct body shape.
