Looking for a project Ambassador 29’

I thought it wouldn’t hurt to post something here in addition to searching the classifieds. I am particularly interested in the rear double models with the door 60”+ from the front.Click image for larger version

I looked at a 79 Ambassador last summer. I really liked the couch along the side, and fold up table under the front window, and a recliner on the curb side. The one I looked at was a rear bath, twin bed. The Airstream archive literature you attached would indicate a late 70s model.

This particular 79 was an International. But man, it sure had delamination and warpage of the interior cabinets. The overhead locker bottoms were all warped. I was very disappointed in the plastic "formica" (melamine I now believe) that had delaminated from the wood. My 75 Overlander does not have delamination issues. This trailer also had a significant case of rear end separation as well as other needs. It was a project for sure. I decided to pass on it.

Ambassadors are kinda rare I think. Maybe folks just went with the Sovereign instead. I don't see a lot of them in the Classifieds.

Good luck in your search.

From what I can see from the product literature of both early and late 70s Ambassadors, the rear twins has the door further forward. I’m slowly coming to the conclusion that the floor plan I ultimately want needs that extra 3’ beyond what I have in the Argosy 26’ and preferably fore of the door.
The next best candidate appears to be some of the 29’ Excella’s from the early/mid 90s

I really don't know how many layout variations there were. Our 86 Limited 34' is a rear twin, center bath with lots of room up front. It came with a couch and a recliner up front. It also has a dinette across from the galley. It is a well built trailer. Except maybe the subfloor, which is OSB, not my favoriate material.
