Used versus New: considering floorplan

Greetings to those shopping for an Airstream

Just over a year ago I too began shopping for an Airstream trailer. I drove to my state dealer about 130 miles away to look at new Airstreams. I spent most of the day wandering through the various models. I returned again a few months later and repeated the process, this time, focused on floorplan and liveability for 2-3 month ventures. I compared new to new not really considering anything else at the time.

Fast forward. I bought used with a totally different floorplan and interior than I had looked at. I liked it. That said, I must tell you that you should not limit yourself to new ones. There are some really neat floorplans that are no longer made that really have some nice features.

For example, consider the pre-sport 22' Safari. It was similar to the current Flying Cloud 20' but had the bed turned, included a dresser with a desk-like top in the bedroom. Much of everything else is the same, still, what a neat idea. There are many such surprises in used floorplans.
