Solar Option

Hi,

Sorry to be flooding the forum with questions but believe me I search before or there' be 10x more!

That said I just discovered the Sport 22FB I'm considering has the ~$1200 solar option but is not described clearly.

It sounds like just wired for solar but I still have to buy panels......

But I didn't see any indication of it being solar ready... Should there be a clear plug or panels on roof (I don't recall seeing any but wasn't looking too hard) an obvious controller inside? 2 batteries?

Do they install it after or just pre DPI?

Thanks,

R44

This is what I found. This is on a 2019 16í unit but should be the same on your sport.
Solar package is $1250 option and that means you will have a complete solar system despite it not being worth the money you paid for it.

Your Dealer should be doing a better job answering your question and helping you understand what you are getting for your hard earned money.
From what I am seeing I would not be buying anything from them.
There are to many good dealers out there to put up with crap.
Find someone who. Is willing to work with you on the unit you want.
This is a BIG investment. Driving 500, 600, even more to get the right deal is worth it.

Hi

The option gives you a complete solar setup on your trailer. Is it worth what they charge for it? You could buy all the bits and pieces from a cheaper source than they use and put them all on the trailer yourself. As long as you make no mistakes and your labor is free, you will save some money. You can also have your dealer put something on ... how good that turns out for how much money ..... results are all over the map ( total disaster to pretty much works)

If you really want to go for a fancy solar setup and cost is not a concern, you can get better from somebody who specializes in doing this. That will involve getting your trailer to them when they have time to do the work. It likely means being there for a few days while they do it right.

With a lash up, if there are issues, getting things straightened out can be complicated. With the stock system, any AS dealer can fix it. With a pro install, it should be well enough done that it's easy to work on.

Lots of variables ....
