I would recommend used, but the "newest" you could afford. When we were first looking, we strongly considered buying an older model and having it upgraded/restored, but we were ready to be campers, and time is precious. The one common answer to "how big" was 31'. When the dust settled we decided on a 25' with twin beds. We found a nice used one, had to purchase it over the phone, and drive over 700 miles to pick it up. It was great trailer in every way except one, we didn't like the sleeping arrangement, and ended up getting a 30 with a queen bed, and love it. The best part of the story is, we used the 25' for 5 years, sold it in 4 hours, for what we paid for it. That's our story.
