Pay for dealer inspection when Buying a used 16’ Sport?

We are purchasing a 2018 16’ Sport model. Is it worth paying $650 for the local dealer to do a detailed inspection of the trailer before we use it? They also offer a multipoint inspection for $180. We are hesitating to pay for the expensive detailed run through on a pretty new trailer.

Is it an AS dealer?
They expect you to pay X amount up front and pay more for what they WILL find. 🥴

Shouldn't the inspection be done before you purchase the trailer?

Please have the inspection before you purchase.

IMHO if this is your first Airstream. Pay for the inspection.
I'd rather be boon docking in the desert.

Your post seems to imply you are purchasing privately
If so at least pay the &180 for a quick once over if you are not comfortable on your own
Make sure the current owner demonstrates that all appliances are working
Fridge on gas and electric, hot water heater working on gas and electric if applicable
Don't accept empty propane tanks as an excuse... they owe you a complete and full demonstration
Or you can negotiate a reduction in price to cover those things they can't or won't demonstrate
A new board for a fridge or hw heater will run up to $250 each at an RV repair shop
Ask how many miles they put on the trailer since new
You need to re-grease wheel bearings every 8 -10 K miles
Brakes might need replacing 20 - 25 K
Make them open and close the awning
Demonstrate the furnace and AC. Even on 15 amps the AC should start
Check under the panel in the clothes. closets and sink cabinets and inside storage spaces for evidence of water leaks
Make them demonstrate how evefry thing works.... the table drop down to make the bed, the steps, acces to the water pump and water tank and where all the drains are
Make sure they demonstrate that the water pump is working and nothing leaks
I'm sure there are other things I've e missed.but you can do a lot of inspection by yourself
If they can't or won't show you then they should pay for the inspection
