Extended warranty?

Newbee here. Beth and I will be picking up our new Classic 30 in a couple of weeks? We sold our smaller camper with the plan to hit the open road full time.
Our first question: Is the extended warranty a good value? I'm asking specifically about the 72 month comprehensive for $5,654. My general inclination is to pass on this but wondering what other new owners experiences have been.

Huge moneymaker for the selling dealership. You have a 3 year warranty from Airstream and, if anything is going to fail, it will probably fail during that period.

Maintenance contracts are basically a casino and the house almost always wins.

Take the $5654.00 and use for all the things you will actually WANT....AND use.
The AS itself is covered buy the Factory, and most everything they installed is covered try the manufacturer.

Sweet Streams..

Id pass and invest the $5K. Youre far more likely to end up ahead than if you pour money down the hole with an extended warranty. There are exceptions, but the buyer seldom sees a return on their investment. This is a boondoggle designed to give the consumer a sense of security while padding the pocket of the seller.

As the others have suggested, I opted out and self insured.
