Delivery time from AS factory?

Does anyone the approximate delivery time from factory to dealer for a trailer not in the dealer's inventory? One dealer told me 6 weeks (from the middle of July) while another said 4 months. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Welcome to the best Airstream Forums in the world JCF48! Delivery time varies with season and level of business. It does tend to stretch out in the late winter to approximately spring period. We ordered our Safari July 10th last year; it was delivered to the Iowa dealer by the 3rd week of August. You might yet get a reply from a member who's spoken to a dealer in recent weeks.

Enjoy the thrill!

Actually, it could even be sooner..It really just depends on what's getting on the Assembly line when your order gets put into the system..I've seen orders fulfilled in as little as 2 weeks. Which also included the delivery time.

We've ordered two and we received the current one at the dealers in the 6 to 7 week range. It can extend to 12 weeks from what we've seen.

Don't forget you can go the Jackson Center and watch Airstream put the trailer together, that would make the wait a little more pleasant.

It really does depend...

Airstream uses a sophisticated ERP system to plan production releases from entire backlog, and every dealer and individual order is loaded in as soon as confirmed. While many components like wheels and tires and A/C units are common, a number of exterior and particularly interior trim items are subcontracted or purchased, and vendor lead times vary... Thus if they're waiting for long-lead hickory cabinets and Corian counters for Classic Limiteds, and have lots of Safari SE interior parts, the Safari's will get built quickly, and the Classics will take a while.. They also slow down and build up dealer inventories in the winter, and build to orders in spring and fall. Summer is often buildup of new models for dealer orders.

All that said, they do try to turn orders within 8 weeks, and the dealer who said "4 months" really didn't want to order you a trailer.. They'd likely have preferred you took one they'd already bought and were paying interest on...

We purchased our AS on July 16. Supposed to come off the line on Sep 10 which is 8 weeks. Probably won't have it for another week or two which includes delivery time from the factory to Ontario, plus dealer prep work.

Could be up to 12 weeks. Mine arrived in 8. The dealer modified an Classic 31 they had already ordered. If you don't wnt to wait you could buy off the lot. If you were talking to Safford RV go elsewhere. Unless you know what you want they could not help me. I wentto Out-of-Doors-Mart in NC between Raliegh-Durham and Greensboro. Quite helpful and realistic about when my trailer would arrive.
