Considering a used 2021 Caravel 20fb

I have been looking at airstreams. Originally planned for a new bambi or basecamp but recently came across a used 2021 Caravel 20fb. Current asking price is 70k. Dealer told us we could get a new Bambi 20fb for about 69k. So, for about the same price, getting a used caravel still under warranty seems like it might be better for my family.

The used caravel looks pretty well maintained. Some scratches on some of the cabinets on the inside that I noticed and what looked like a stain on the inside of one also.

Is 70k high, low, or about right for a used 2021 caravel 20fb right now? My thought without research was that I would be happy if I could get it for 65-66k but discussed with my wife and am trying to do research now.

Used caravel > new Bambi imo. We have a 2022 caravel 20FB and love it. The price is hard to answer since used units are still at a premium. I’d say a few scratches here and there is going to happen anyway, so who cares really. Good luck!

The Caravel is a far better equipped trailer than the Bambi in terms of features and capability. At the same price, if the '21 is in good shape, I'd go for the Caravel without question.

I agree that the added features on the Caravel make it a better choice - especially the quieter ducted air. Rear bumper storage and better executed battery box help with outside storage.
However, be aware that Dometic warranties will not transfer to a second owner.
Also, the dealer pretty much expects you to make a lower offer than asking price. Come up with a list of bargaining points ahead of time. (Applies to a new purchase as well.) The pandemic buying frenzy is over.
Good luck!

The Caravel has lots of upgraded features over the Bambi....Power Jack, Rock guard, ducted AC vents...... I have the 2021 Caravel '16 and it's just too small (even though I travel SOLO). I believe the 20' has a separate shower and a sink (the '16 has a wet bath and no separate sink). I can't imagine 2 people (or more) in a '16. I'd definitely go for the 20' model....I sure wish I had.

IMO the 20FB is a best floor plan for Caravel or Bambi. If you are tall or large check out the bed configuration. It worked for us as we are on the smaller side. In the end we choose the Caravel as we liked all the features (auto tongue levelers and ducted AC plus stone guards) and styling better. It really depends on what is important to you and budget. The Caravel is about $12K more. I don’t think they have changed anything except maybe the refrigerator brand on the 23’s

I believe they started switching to 12v/120v compressor fridges a while into 2021, so the 2021 might still have the absorption fridge. So rather then brand, they may have changed type of fridge.

We have the 20FB flying cloud, 2012 year, and is definitely the best floor plan.
