Hello & help! We are looking seriously at an '89 excella '29 twin in the Tampa, FL area. Is there any resource service for inspections? We would love to have a knowledgeable independent party have a good look. We would be first time airstreamers and are lacking in experience about what to look for. Thank you, Helen & Brian
i just bought a 1990 29' excella in late feb, it should aboout the same with little diffrence between them.
and these are the problems before and after i bought it
to start out with only some of the maker and tail lights worked i had to replace them all W/L.E.D's.
the furnace was pulled out and did not work i had to replace the whole thing and the replacement needed a new circuit board.
the frige needed a new cooling unit
the gears on the T.V. antanna needed to be replaced to move it up and down
the vent in the bathroom needed a new fan blade, broken due to age also needed a new vent cover
both front and rear vent cover's needed replaced along with one fan blade
the plastic seal for the A/c unit on top was cracked so i had to reseal it.
and for the big deal the floor around the door was rotten about 2-3 inches in and it went around the front to about the middle of the first front window
besides the few little dents and dings and some maintance stuff the trailer is in real good condition. some of this stuff i new before i bought it and some of it i found after i bought it all in all i would buy the trailer all over again even if i knew every little problem with it.
besides that me and the wife have only took it out once. to the branson spring rally and we loved it and cant wait untill the next trip with it. which will probably be to Kansas city for thr craftsman truck races and indy race in a couple of weeks
