Bambi?

What is a Bambi? I know it is small, but does it have different quality parts than the SE Safari? Is it more top of the line?

Thanks.

In curretn and recent model years, Bambi refers to single axle Airstreams in the 16' and 19' length. They are available in several tim levels including the Safari, International, and several special editions. They are all identified first as Bambis.

So, all 16' and 19' AS are Bambis?

As long as I tried, I could not figure that out. I knew that 16' and 19' are Bambis, but did not know every one was. I think I have that right.

Thanks for the answer.

Current model year 16' and 19' are all Bambis, I think back to 2001.

It is confusing...because the term "Bambi" when used in the 60's meant it was the smallest model and 16' long. The "GlobeTrotter" was 19' long. Recently, the name Bambi has been recycled by Airstream and is now model that is still small, but very different in fit & finish today from the vintage ones. And as previously mentioned is available in several finish packages - which confuses matters even more.

When speaking of vintage trailers, "Safari" used to mean it was 22' long...today it is a line of finishes & style.

Today, the level of basic upgrades, which are really more style IMO, are:

Safari
Classic
International CCD

All these have different options & color-schemes available and then there are the special editions like "David Winnick" & " Quicksilver".

Check out some dealer websites for a better understanding of what is currently out there...if it's vintage you're interested in, check out the Vintage Archives

Have fun finding the right trailer for you!

Thanks to all!

I am fairly new to AS s. It seems like they keep adding new and different floor plans quite often. I read in a post yesterday about another new floor plan in a 23' or 25'-can't remember which.

Thanks again.
