2015 models?

Just curious when new AS models are usually released? I know the auto dealers are already advertising 2015 but I don't know when RV manufacturers unveil their new models. Thanks.

The largest dealers like Colonial has them on order by now as 2014 is sold out to the dealers.

Our '14 was built in June 2013. Or was it July? I always get the J months mixed up.

Other than price increases?

Might want to watch the Classic models this year.... Some whiffs of interesting rumors abound.

Eddie Bauer model is being discontinued in the 2015 model year. Slow seller.

Look for automatic/electronic Awnings, recliners, and color schemes changes on the Classic. I just delivery of a 2014 30ft FC, grass always greener, but really cool with our custom choices.

The could improve all the 25/27/28 models by offering a comfortable seating option such as a sofa or recliners. Many of us don't need bench seats that convert to beds. A Trailer-for-Two option for retiree travelers.

Aircraft like First Class Seats that Recline fully (Lay Flat Style). Best of all worlds. Comfortable by day and usable at night. We have an aircraft like exterior, time we got more aircraft like interiors.

On the Interstate, I'd like to see the Fridge and Microwave come up. Its a non-starter with my wife to have them so low to the ground. I like everything about the new Leisure Travel Vans Free Spirit models including the roof kit that hides the rood top mechanicals and makes the awning more aerodynamic. They are eating Airstream's lunch on innovations. I'd consider a 2.1L 4 cyl in the Interstate as well ( I have this engine in my 2014 E250 and its great!). For use here in the flatlands its perfectly acceptable.

Dinetts

Looking over the 2013/14 Airstreams everyone of them has a dinette, we have owned classic 25s,and 28s and neither had a dinette which we loved.Even the Sports have a dinette ---I just don't get it --- what's with it ?

Exactly what we don't want. We like the eddie bauer for the ability to easily remove the dinette and fold up one side for large floor space for the kids/dog. We also like the 23 c for a smaller alternative with a lot of floor space after folding and storing the table..or not bringing it with us at all.

We never eat inside anyway unless it's a quick breakfast snack.

I would like to see more open floor plan models for us young family types who do not need storage for long trips. I won't be making a trip over 2 weeks long for decades and even a 2 week trip would be quite rare. 3 days to a week would be out norm and open floor plan is a bonus over storage.

I guess we are in the minority for buyers and everything I like will always get discontinued. ..

Its a Bi-Turbo Diesel Jim. A bit tuned down from the one in my Bluetec. Pleasureway and LTV both offer their versions of the 2014 Sprinters with it. Not sure about Roadtrek.

I liked the roof kit initially but now think it makes the LTV look too tall.

As far as eating Airstreams lunch on innovations, I am not sure where you are getting that. Is it the screen door? Or maybe the fact that when you have the spare tire mounted on the rear on the LTV you can't open the back door. Clever

Innovations? SS model that has a slideout, Dry Bath and ooodles of storage, TE model that has double side doors, etc. BTW the rear tire mount is on a hinged bracket that allows it to drop out of the way of the left rear door. And I do like the roof kit as it adds aerodynamics to the vehicle. To each their own. The biggest problem I have with the Interstate is the layout. Fridge and Microwave both down at a level that makes them difficult to use, and the open windows space is on the wrong side of the van for visibility. Hoping to see some improvements. Others are innovating as well with the RT E-Trek, and the Advanced-RV folks have all sort of good ideas with heaters and electrical generation.
