Where in/on the TT will I find the serial number? Do the large numbers on the front of the unit have any significance? Is there a site on the internet that tells the weight of the different models of units? (Yeah, I'm new to all this - just starting to get our toes wet. Speaking of which, after reading on the forum about the aluminum shell & lightening attraction, I about decided to scrap the whole idea. I had really looked forward to sleeping in the unit & listening to the rain & thunder, but now I'm not so sure. lol).
The serial number will either be on a metal tag on the body of the trailer or stamped into the top of the tongue, or both.
The large decal numbers are WBCCI club numbers and were not issued by Airstream.
Trailer weights can be found on this link: http://www.airstream.com/faq/weights.pdf
I don't worry about lightning hitting my trailer. If it wants me, it will find me.
You are probably safer in an Airstream than you are in your bedroom. Just as in a car, a lightning strike will follow the surface and leave the interior untouched.

Okay I have been reading all the threads I can but still in the dark on serial number.
Mine is I303T145. I believe it to be a 1963 30' Sovereign.
Anything more I can get from this number?
Question to add to the serial number thread. Have a 55 Globetrotter - Should I replace my original serial number plate with a new one? (I'd keep the original one mounted inside somewhere) IF not, does anyone know who refurbishes the original ones to have the blue color back on them?
