vin number

I received a trailer with the bill of sale using flt 10148 v as the serial number. This number is on the tongue of the trailer. The plate on the side is missing which concerns me. The other number that i found on the trailer is 221421T which is a serial number for a 1961 Safari. It was sold to me to be a 1664 Safari. Need information and help.

The number on the tongue doesn't make sense in Airstream terms...sounds to me that it is indeed a 1961 Safari. I assume that 22142T is the number stamped on the blue plate by the door.

The blue plat by the door is missing. the 22142T in written in pencil on the front window frame. I am stripping paint off the tongue to see if there is another number there somewhere.

Bummer. You may want to also check inside cabinets & on drawer bottoms. Our '64 had the warranty certificate inside a closet & the VIN number handwritten on cabinets. Not sure what the frame numbers are - but they are not an Airstream VIN number. If you can post some pictures of your trailer, we can help ID it better...

Can you register it with just a Bill of Sale in your state?
