Help with VIN

Please help me decode the VIN on my AS. It's the first number or letter that is giving me the trouble. It looks all the world to be a numeral one "1" not the letter "L" or "I" I noticed in the threads about an International that the number 1 was for a double bed and a 2 for twins. The VIN is the same on the side plate next to the door and on the front body just above the A frame on the driver's side (which also says Manufactured 8 73, and GVWR 6280, GAWR Front 2800, and GAWR Rear 2800. The VIN appears to be 127D4J1501. On the side of the AS is a large plaques that says "AIRSTREAM INTERNATIONAL" Next to the door are two smaller plaques that say "Land Yacht" and "Overlander". The bath is in the rear and there is a center bedroom with one pull out double bed. The kitchen has a stove top to the left of the sink and a wall oven to the right of the sink. I've looked at the "1" at the beginning of the VIN several times and it looks just like the "1" at the end of the VIN.

The 1 is really an I so it's an International 27 foot double bed 1974 made in Jackson. That's how I read it.
