streamer 23,
I am the proud new owner of what I believe is a 19' 1962 Globetrotter. I would love to know the history. Blue numbers on the back are 26711 and vin is192D1259. The more I learn about this AS the little I realize I knew when I began this adventure.
Thanks

Hi,
WBCCI numbers are red and I will be able to help you if in fact they are that colour. If the numbers are blue on your Globetrotter it is possible it belonged to a Forum member. Can you confirm the colour of the numbers?

Thanks for the response. The numbers are so faded I can't be certain but I believe they were originally blue.

The Blues

If someone used blue numbers they did it outside the standards set so many years ago, that my toes, and fingers are unable to count the many years of the red numbers.

It appears that the Airstreamer was creative, or it is possilbe belonged to one of the other clubs that accepted all comers.

Red is good, red is right, and so-on and so-on.

I tried to get the info for Inaley but #26711 does not appear in any of my directories. The number would have been issued in the 1972-1973 area.If another forum member has a directory in the 1970's maybe they could provide some info to Inaley.

When we joined this February, we requested my parents number, 10781. My dad died in 06 and mom didn't keep up the membership. They were streamers for over 28 years.

1965 Safari Numbers

My curiosity has been peaked.

I own a 1965 Safari Double - VIN# - JO225147.
“J” - Jackson Center, Ohio
“O” - Overlander Model
“22” - 22 feet
“5” - Built in 1965
“147” - sequence number 147
There were two sets of “ghost” numbers on the trailer when I got it.
As near as I can determine one of the numbers was 12453, the other being 15133.
I purchased the trailer in Georgia. It came with a receipt dated 2/16/73 from an Airstream Rally in Sarasota Florida. At that time it appears to have been owned by a couple from Atlanta, Georgia.
Can anyone help me with any additional history of this silver lady that I have adopted?
Thanks, BWH

Looks to me like there were 3 sets of ghost numbers and it is hard to tell for sure from the picture what any of them are.One could be 15133 or even 15153.Do you have a picture of the ghost numbers from the other end of the trailer as they may be easier to read?

Older Number

O.K. Now, I'm really curious. When we joined the club last year we were assigned the number that matched our address: 4335. That's obviously a number that's been around for a while. What year would this have been first assigned? I'd love to know who has had it in the past.

Mike, thanks for the reply. Yah, it is a tough call what the different sets of numbers were. I do not have any other photos, and they are gone now as I have started polishing. The photo I posted actually relieved more than looking at them in person. If there are no easy matches for someone in Georgia around the late 60s or 70s then I guess the silver ladies history will remain mysterious. And I am OK with that; I'll enjoy wondering what kind of adventures she has been on. From the minimal ware and tare on the undercarriage it seems like she stayed pretty close to home though. Well that's already changed, as she now lives in Utah.
Thanks again.
