Ciao Cesare!

Airstream motorhomes are built on a chassis that comes from a truck manufacturer. So, the original rolling chassis had a VIN, and the finished motorhome has another that's assigned by Airstream according to their numbering scheme.

GM chassis vin would begin 1GBKP37W (foward control m/h chassis 454 engine etc) I'd hazard a guess for yours as M motorhome, 24 24', R rear bath, 9 1979, V Versailles OH mfg, The hadn't yet gone to 17 digit Vins yet.
