Newbie here looking for help

I've recently started to search & have looked at a 1985 Sovereign here local to me.

Ok, so here is the Vin# 1STABAJ21FJ502847

According to the chart posted in a different thread - http://www.airforums.com/forums/atta...0&d=1258491386

I've gotten this far:

1ST-A/S TT
A-Center Bath/Rear Kitchen
B-Classic *4/4/01 (this doesn't make sense to me)
A-Semi-monocoque, 96” narrow body, continuous curved, shiny aluminum
Shell, contoured window glass, frames and doors.
J-25’ to less than 26’ (does this mean it's 25' ?)
2-Double axle
1-(this is the check digit)
F-1985
J-Jackson Center, OH
502847-According to the above document, I'm suppossed to use all these numbers to figure the 1 (check digit) in the vin I already know???

Thumbs up Looks Right...

Hi Hollybeth,

Welcome to the forums.

Based on the stated VIN you have the right configuration with rear twins...Correct?

The 'Classic' is the model, like 'Sovereign' or 'Excella', etc.. Usally the Classic had more wood and appointments.

What else would you like to know?

Chris

Yes, its rear twin beds. But it is a Sovereign, not a Classic. Unless it's normal for someone to switch the names on the exterior of Airstreams.

Did you start a new thread on the same topic and trailer. I think you already have 2 going so this would be the third. I think all in the same thread would be better.

I posted a Member Introduction. Secondly I started a thread in the 1985 Sovereign section. Someone may have mentioned the VIN, but the thread itself was general. I'll move this into the other. I was just trying to post my questions in the area they were specific to.
