Are you sure you're exempt? It's the rated gross, not the empty weight that makes the difference. I'm annoyed that my 26U is 100 lb over the 7,500 lb limit. Airstream says the gross for an '82 Excella 34' is 8300 lb, but if someone made an error on your title and listed the dry weight you're a winner! (My Argosy was titled in Texas with its dry weight instead of gross, for example, so I never had a state inspection for a trailer until I got the 26U.)
