This is VERY INTERESTING> It could lead you(and us) to some very interesting findings. I'm not so worried about your Airstream....but, what is the story on the Airstream carrying your registration.

I went to the Tax assesor office to research the vin to try and find the title. The document tells me it was tagged last year? It has the owners name on the search. I think he is using the title for another trailer. As, the airstream is now parked at my house. I have never heard of the guy, nor has my freind. What kind of advice could anyone give me on dealing with a situation, like this? Thanks
IF you have proof of ownership (notarized sworn statement might work), I would turn it over to the State as a fradulent title/license, and see what happens.

If the guy using the title for another trailer gets in an accident, it might be traced back to the Airstream at your house which may have the proper VIN. If that other trailer is an Airstream, and since to most people they all look alike, you may have to show yours wasn't involved in the accident. You will need a bill of sale for the one you have—I don't know if Texas requires it to be notarized so call and ask someone at motor vehicles if a vehicle bill of sale has to be. Get that part solved, and then do what Steve suggested.

I am thinking of several stolen Airstreams that have not shown up.

I thought about contacting the guy, by phone of course, I'm not law inforcement. Just to ask what in the heck is going on. He only live about 45 minutes from me, and has a business in Weatherford. He is a business owner. When I googled his name, it brought up a construction company as well. The document search I did at the tax ass. pulled up his address.

I thought that too. But, the guy comes up as a business owner also. Not to say a business owner cant be involved in some shady stuff. Just would be less likely, I think. As of now, the tags show to be out. So, Im wondering if he just tagged a trailer to move it? Either way, that's risky business. It could get a Trooper to asking a lot of questions on the side of the highway! I would think, that would be criminal. I dont know, like I said I'm not law inforcement.

I purchased an Airstream in Texas without a IN or title. Is there anyway for an out of state resident to get a salage title?
