Need more information or maybe a picture...

Welcome Janet,

Over 1,500 people have viewed your question and other than 'Greatpumpkin' have not responded. And, that might be because your number scheme does not match any of the pre 1980 data.

Therefore, I would suggest you take a picture, airforum folks like pictures, of your VIN and the tag that might be close by the door.

Good Luck

It's more likely because the thread is 5 years old.

In just figuring out ours, this may be the same for yours:
30 means it is 30 ft long overall
T means it's Twin (bed layout?)
S means it's SOVEREIGN? but model name goes by the year
and I looked at 1963 names
S means it was made in California
0 might mean it's an Overlander (versus I for international)
146 might mean it's number produced that year

Yours is like ours in that it was made before they started VIN's, but it is your VIN along with adding the year it was made.

There is a plate on your trailer that will have the month? and last two numbers of the year it was made. Perhaps like ours in the photo if it gets attached; 6/61 (June 1961?)

VIN Help Request

Can anybody help decipher this VIN?

19TS S2164 6211.

I think it's for a 19 ft, twin, center toilet Globetrotter built in 1962, but don't know for sure.

Thanks for the help.

First off, welcome to AirForums!

Based on '2164' portion of the VIN, you actually have a 1963 19' Globetrotter built in CA in November of 1962 (1162 portion of the numbers provided). Like cars, the next year's model comes out late in the previous year. Click on the link above - you should see similar trailers to this one.

Here's another link to the models in 1963...GlobeTrotters did not have "center toilets" - they all have the bathroom in the back.

Regardless, enjoy it!

Shari

Airstream, with help from Joe Peplinski the WBCCI Historian has updated the Airstream VIN S/N decoder. It is actually hard to find on the Airstream website, but here is the link.
