1966 Airstream with no side windows?

Hi all-

First adult purchase of an 24' Airstream. Have clean title and the VIN indicates it was built in 1966, but I can't find any pictures of any models that have no side windows? It only has windows on front and back. It's gutted to the sub floor and interior skin so perfect for us to start renovation into a home office. Exterior doesn't have any patches so it looks original.

Any ideas on how to research further? Nothing on Airstream website that remotely looks like what I've got.

Who knows what custom Airstream units were made. This could turn out to be anything and might be interesting. The Astronauts isolation units were made about that time... so, check out the interior for moon rocks. Grin.

Some Airstreams of that size were built with no side windows, no plumbing, and no furnishings. They were used by the WBCCI units for carrying and storing club owned supplies and materials. I even know of one 1968 Safari with no windows and tandem axles. It was originally owned by the South Florida unit.

It is interesting that it has gas tanks, which would indicate that it had some kind of need for propane, like heat, or ?? But with no windows, what kind of original interior could it have had? I see no wall indications on the photo you show of a heat vent, or a water heater, but maybe on the curb side?

The front window is a definite modification. The original hinge is still in place.

Airstream at one time made many 'commercial" trailers, to the owners specs, within reason.

Since yours was made in California, quite well it was for the movie industry.

Records for the vintage trailers, are all history.
