Stair broke...saved rivet

Has anyone heard of stairs on an airstream breaking? My husband had a piceless expression..I nearly died laughing. He is heavy.(off topic)He has not offered to replace the stairs. I have contacted Vintage Trailer Supply.email.they don't show outside stairs as a problem.
It is a new to me 90 a.s. excella. . . original.good shape but has been to Alaska twice & every state.Phil and Marty B. sold gunhandles out of it.Cortez, CO. Any suggestions appreciated. I am on my own with this...Tired of using step bench. Just call me full timer this March.SMILE.it happens
