Ontario Insurance Increase Again!

Hi,

We hope that everyone is remaining healthy and of course anxious like us to get the trailer out when it is safe to do so.

I am looking for suggestions and ideas for insurance companies within Ontario.

Last year our insurance jumped up and once again we doubled this year. Of course our bill reads the normal excuses for raising the amount but it is getting ridiculous now! We are with AVIVA and have had NO claims. We own a 30ft AS bunk model. Any suggestions and ideas would be very helpful. There is NO reason that my trailer insurance should cost more than our house insurance. It seems that our broker has less interests in searching for better prices so we are on the hunt. Thank you all for your assistance. It is always nice to be able to go to the Forum.

Did you find a better company to go with? We just ordered our new AS and will need to get insurance but don’t know who to go with. Any suggestions? We are in Ontario and are currently using TD Insurance for our home.

Hi,

We went with McConville Omni. Ask to speak with Sarah. She also owns an RV and was very helpful. It would appear that the insurance increase was felt by a lot of AS owners that I spoke with. I hope that this helps and good luck finding a place to camp! Increase in trailer sales combined with border issues has not left much real estate for camping. Happy Trails!
