I think the seller needs to be reminded how dangerous this can be even after detailing. I can only imagine what lurks inside those walls. I have a bad feeling that not only is someone going to get ripped off but become very sick. I agree that these will need a shell of resto.

I guess a complaint could be made to the BBB, but I am not sure if it would do any good. Selling it as is will let the seller get away with anything due to Caveat emptor.

Rules of eBay?

How many times can they do that????
I don't think a person/business listing an item has to post answers to questions if they don't want everyone to see the answer. I think that is just an option.
Hopefully when folks are looking to get a "deal" they will do "due dilligence" and google this "bargain" and find this thread. I am sure the seller thinks he is disclosing ALL by saying "slight water damage." Note in huge red letters the listing states AS IS - NO WARRANTY. That SHOULD be sending up red flags to ANY buyer, especially as it's listed as NEW.
In no way, shape, or form is this any kind of bargain.

After looking at the link above that goes to the sellers website I am concerned about the accuracy of their information. In the same document describing the trailer they say it has not been cleaned or even looked at, and at the bottom they say all of their rigs are checked out and road-ready. It sounds like it was modified from a boiler-plate form, or an idiot wrote it. I can't decide.

They will require disassembly to be safe and comfortable. I have never seen an ad for anything say that, and I don't expect to see it now.

I can't say I've ever been ripped off, but I do my homework before a purchase. Some unsuspecting, well meaning person though, may buy this heap thinking they are getting a trailer that just needs a good cleaning. This couldn't be further from the truth. They will be getting a bona-fide health hazard. And I have a strong suspicion those guys will sell it to them letting them think that. That is douchebaggery at its lowest. Maybe I'm wrong, but their ad sure paints a different picture.

I just looked on ebay to check this out myself. "Light water damage" well ok. I have to give them credit that they didnt even try to clean it up. Mud still in the sink. If someone buys this little bambi what you see is what you get. Hopefully they understand all the hidden damage. I really do think they should be parted out but i would imagine when you are a car lot away from the forums its just too tempting to sell it outright because from afar it looks like a little jewel..

I would love to see the factory's forum user to get on here and give us their take of these trailers being sold as New with light water damage. Has anyone thought about calling this dealer to have them set their story straight?

The trailer on ebay is listed as a 2009 and the ad their web page they say it's a 2010. They have the same Vin number and the words of the ad appear to be the same. Including the statement that it's been detailed and ready for the open road.
Surely Utah has some kind of comsumer protection agency that could be notified.

good point, i think the 'clean' salvage title and VIN will be the filter for this at the dealer/factory level.
they KNOW which trailers are part of the georgia turds.
that doesn't help the poor unsuspecting buyer, but IF it's too good a deal to be real, THAT should be a clue...

"Light water damage"
This was their answer to an inquiry about the "Light water damage"......
This is a trailer from Georgia. The water was 3 feet in the trailer and the damage was light. We put this on on ebay to see if anyone would like to buy it for a reduced price and do the cleanup their self.
Would you like to buy it?

NO WAY!!!
Do the math: If the water was 3 feet into the trailer, and the interior height of an Airstream is around 6.75 feet, then almost half of the trailer's interior was flooded!
In order for water to be 3 feet into the trailer, it had to be standing (or submersed) in about 5.5 to 6 feet of water - wonder what the condition is of the axles, brakes, bearings, etc.

What a kind of professional business opinion is this: "This trailer we have not checked out" and "Light water damage" in the same advertisement. Maybe one should ask them the difference between light and heavy and their method of determination without a through investigation.
