Leasing

I'm a newbie, just learning the ropes. Does anyone know if it is possible to lease a rig for a few months?

Thanks.

I think it depends on what you want to do with it. For a fashion or movie shoot, there are lots of willing owners.

If you want to hitch up and take the family cross country it might be more difficult because of the damage, insurance, liability issues. It's just not worth it for most owners.

Leasing

Thanks for the response.

I was thinking more of dealers who see short term leases as a money making venture and would have thought through all the hurdles you mention.

But, you gave me an idea of maybe just posting my interest around on boards and see if there is any interest.

Welcome to the forums. I think you will find that dealers who rent do not rent Airstreams. They are too expensive to pay out during a rental contract term. It would be like going to Enterprise and asking to rent a Mercedes. They may have one somewhere in the country but it would cost you a fortune to rent.
There are dealers who will rent other brands if you just want to try camping. Remember that when you switch to an Airstream the experience only gets better.
Good luck to you.

I am working on behalf of a corporate client that would like to rent a 28' Airstream for one week (starting a week from now!). They want to put it on their office site in Northern California as a place to meet w/ potential employees.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In Phoenix, AZ, there is a place that rents out an airstream.
It's a 2006 Safari model and from what i recall it is a 25' one.
It was very nice and really clean.

Arizona Travel Center-I don't think so

This place is such a rip off!!! They lied to me to get me to rent a vechicle I didn't want. Lied to me to pay for extras I didn't need. Then when the vehicle broke down they refused to come fix the problem. I had to take the vehicle to a shop myself and pay for it myself. Then of course they refused to reimburse me. Never ever rent from these people!!!!

There is an on-line service where private owners can put their RV up for rent. We have a pop-up camper which we use exclusively as a rental and use this service. You make the reservation through them and then deal directly with the owner. The search factor is by location and not brand so it is hard to say if any Airstreams are listed. However if someone out there is considering renting their Airstream this is a very good way to go. We have found them to be reliable, honest, and they do bring in the renters. Here is the link: RV Rentals- Rent Motor Homes Travel Trailers and Campers.
