Interest Rates

What Interest Rates are people seeing recently for Airstream purchase? Understand people get different rates based on credit rating and term, but just trying to get an idea of what to expect for a 15 or 20 year loan. Thanks.

Just spot checking a few credit unions the lowest 15 year rate I have found was 8.5%, the other two were mid to high 9's. Based on current auto loans that sounds about right (unless manufacturer subsidized).

I would simply call some dealers and see what rates are. Most dealers will have a financing arm in their dealership. When I bought mine I financed it for about a year through USBank. I can remember it was about 1.5% higher than a typical mortgage. Car rates are close to 8%. Probably not much different, and could be higher.

I have a friend who just purchased an AS from AS of Nashua a few weeks ago and the rate was 6.99% through AS/BofA for either a 15 or 20 year term. That is a similar rate to what I received for my new truck through GM Financial.

I work at a Mercedes-Benz dealership and see rates everyday for cars and a 6.99% is an amazing rate for a 15/20 year term much less a 72 month auto loan. Our average new car rate is 7.9%

Check your Credit Unions. Not sure if they even do long term RV loans but we just used a local Credit Union for a new SUV for my wife and we were able to get 5.15%

Here's our local 1st Entertainment CU (So Cal) RV rates today.
They are typically competitive with auto loans as a reference.

Weíre finalizing a purchase for a 2024 ordered a couple months ago. The best rate for a 20yr is thru BofA @ 8.5. Was told a 15yr is the same rate. It looks like rates have climbed in the past few months (unfortunately, as expected ☹️).

Two summers ago I go 4.75% on a 20yr term, fixed rate, 10% down, on my 2021 Flying Cloud. US Bank, sourced by my local Airstream dealer. Wish that kind of financing was generally available today.

Yep, that was my rate in 2017. We arenít going to see those rates for quite some time. Even if inflation gets low again, the banks have learned their lesson and arenít going to be left hanging with loans at 4.5% and money market accounts near 5% in order to draw deposits. My guess is the best we will see RV rate is around that 6% mark in the future (maybe a few years based upon the FED remarks).

You may need to search for a bank or credit union that will make a loan for an RV, and you may want to consider other forms of collateral loans that would work for your situation.... but I would hesitate to purchase anything like a car or RV without first having secured financing. Having approved finnacing upfront before walking into the dealer allows you to negotiate a better rate with the dealership as that is where they make their money. If you have excellent credit Never take the first offer they provide you... ask them if that's the bank rate. Remember they get a rate from the banks and raise it to you (their profit). Its a negotiation.. ask them to lower at least a quater percent even in these turbulent times.
Good luck

8.14% is a very fair rate today in this climate directly from Airstream Financial (BOA). No one on this thread has provided solid proof of any rate drastically better than this recently.
