Credit Union Personal Loan
When I bought mine, I just got a personal loan. The rates are a little higher than for an auto loan, but it does away with many of the complications (i.e. you hold the title, not them, etc.). In my case, I wasn't borrowing much money so the slightly higher interest didn't really matter. I also went through my company's credit union, which had better rates than the local banks. I think I borrowed $7K. So if you're getting a good deal on an older one and not borrowing a lot, look at a personal loan. Especially if you can go through a credit union. One last thing: I'd recommend you get the trailer inspected by somebody who knows Airstreams, if you yourself aren't super familiar with them. And, budget a little extra for the unseen fixes that any older trailer will need. I immediately had to buy new tires just to get it home. Then I repacked the bearings which meant I had to buy new seals, and put in new shocks. I needed new light bulbs and had to rewire the main electrical plug to the tow vehicle. So, try to have $2K more than the purchase cost just for the "surprises." Hope this helps,
