Weewind value

Am looking at an “as found” 1949 weewind that has not moved in 35 years.....outer shell is very good......interior is original and complete but has dead mice and rodent damage. Glass is good and tires hold air. Floor condition I’d unknown but would be determined prior to purchasing. Belonged to owners parents and she is a very reluctant seller....after multiple visits over last year, she is willing to consider an offer. Trailer is close and I would do self restoration to original. I have restored wood boats and cars so know the drill. Am considering an offer of $10,000 to $12,000. Is this fair/reasonable? Not looking to make a profit but don’t want to be “upside down” in project. Any thoughts/advise? Thanks, David

Since they are so rare there are no comps to look to for comparison. The value is what anyone is willing to spend or sell for. Personally I would not pay 10K, but I am not you. You may have a hard time recouping your expenses. Take your time it is not going anywhere. Use your head as your guide not your heart

I did google "Airstream Weekend for sale" and about half a dozen popped up. Start there.

IMO> at any price you'll start out upside down. If you carry through and finish a restoration or a renovation it will be worth more to you than to anyone else. 99% of the time this kind of work is a labor of love, not a way to make $.

My advice> only if you really want it, offer a lower price and work your way upward.
