Used 2012 Sport 16' Priced at $37,895

We are newbies through and through:-) We are looking at a 2012 used 16 foot Sport that looks in perfect condition. We are in San Diego, so everything I have read said these would go close to list price, but I have also read to ask for 15-20% off list? 38,000 seems pretty high considering it was listed two years ago for 39 most likely, based on Airstream price lists. We are thinking of offering 31500. Would this be a fair offer?

Also, is there something we should be looking for for damage? Like I said, it seems in perfect shape, we are so new to this we wouldn't know what to look for!

No other replies yet... There are several good threads about the nuances of pricing -- if this is their asking price you will need to consider your offer and taxes, etc!

Hi 37k is a good price for international model.
$31.5k is good price for sports model

The listed price sounds high to me too.

AS of Chicago was going to sell us a new 2014 16' Sport that was sitting on their lot for $38,500. That was before we even started to try to negotiate.

Call different dealers to get the lowest price and ask local dealer to match it, most of time they will.

Don't forget the new model year starts May 15!!!!!

Of course it would entail considerable shipping charges, and even if you happened to have or buy a tow vehicle on the east coast, at $4 per gallon for fuel to get it home WHEW!

But all that aside, their prices are a good guideline. And they will negotiate off the list price. Do be aware that on new units getting them TO the west coast will cost more time and probably money. Also taxes in California add to the price.
