Tampa rv show

Went to the Tampa show yesterday. The prices of any new unit is INSANE. A 2022 Airstream Classic 30, same as my 2019 has a "show price of $180,995". and the quality is disappointing. There is no window treatment. Just a window, same as past years , stuck in the raw aluminum side with a cloth folded shade. An Atlas "show price of $260,000. Folks, this is NOT the time to buy a new RV of any brand or class. Just my 2 cents.

Not from the Tampa Dealer anyway. I went to the Tampa show to see a model I recently ordered from another dealer. They were selling them all at MSRP after everyone at the show used them. They didn't have to discount them. As long as there are people overpaying they will take their money. In a few years when the market catches up, they will wish they didn't pay the full MSRP when they sell.

I tell folks to look at HD - in the mid 90’s you had to put down a deposit and pay full MSRP and at my local dealership you also had to prepay for a future accessory package.
For years the HD was worth more then MSRP. I sold my 1995 FLHTC in 2008 for a mere $3k less then I paid for it.
HD built new factories and rode it all to fame and fortune.
Today the HD shop in my hometown is gone. HD has closed most of their factories.
There is no waiting line or deposit required for anything new. A used one is cheap to the point of almost give away.
The killer for HD was their target market got older and the younger folks weren’t as enamored with the brand or lifestyle.
Younger folks as well as work from home folk are buying up RVs and seeing the sites while remote working. If I was still working and able I would join in those reindeer games.
Alas I digress … bottom line IMHO is folks will overpay today and in 5 or 10 years the bargains will be for the taking.
