If you take a look at the people camping in Airstreams, they are predominately couples and singles. Families are in fivers or big motorhomes.

I think that there's so much variation among different families that it's too much of a generalization to suggest that an Airstream isn't big enough for a family of six. Some large families have had good experiences in smaller RVs, and some families drive each other crazy in a 3000 sq ft house. North American homes are getting larger while families are getting smaller, but many are recognizing that they don't need as much space as the average home provides. Also, this type of travel will involve a lot of time outdoors. Living together in close proximity as a family is part of the adventure!
