Odd back-to-back eBay auctions ....

I've watched this auction with considerable interest & am still very curious as to what the reserve possibly could be. It wasn't met in either of the 2 listings. But take a look at the bidding. The first time around, the last 3 bidders all had zero feedback. The second time around, one of those showed up again, joined this time by a bidder whose name closely matched his, and only when the bidding took quite the significant jump --- from 5k to 15k!

This trailer's nice, but no nicer than mine, and 18k would have looked quite nice in MY bank account right about now.

I wonder what his reserve is, $18,000 seems like a good price to me.

Intertesting

What makes it more interesting is that the second time around the same bidder stopped at $15,500. He took it up to $16,300 the first time, maybe he thought the seller lowered the reserve. This appears to be what is refered to as shill bidding.

Shill Bidding is bidding that artificially increases an item’s price or apparent desirability, or bidding by individuals with a level of access to the seller’s item information not available to the general Community. Shill Bidding is prohibited on eBay.

That is "BIG BUCKS" for a trailer! That gives me an added incentive to finish mine and know that it was all worth every dollar and every hour spent on the re-construction.

Sometimes it's tough to tell the shill bidders from the "simply dumb" bidders, though. and if the shills overlap the dumbs, as may be the case with the duplicate "rothman" user names, well ....

interesting....

One is from FL (11 mos)...the other just says US (4 mos)
But the name similarity is too close for comfort.

Its designed to hit your emotional trigger...dont get sucked in.
