New looking to purchase

I am looking at two AS, to buy one.

What is your opinion of the price point for 1976 Globetrotter?

1976 21' Land Yacht Globetrotter - Airstream Trailer Classifieds - Airstreams Trailers For Sale

Any input is welcomed. I have two small kids and my wife. We wonder if this is a good quality year trailer.

I'd pay the asking price. The trailer looks to be in pretty good shape.

I'm a little dubious that a 35 year old trailer in NC has never seen salt nor snow. I find myself making excuses for the seller as to how this could be possible. I guess I imagine he's telling the truth and means it's been garaged for the NC winters and not taken to the coast during the NC summers. Both possible. That's a small point anyway. I think the year of the trailer is fine - from what I see and have read, there are no "bad" years and the vintage era trailers are fun! Two kids and a wife in a 21' trailer is plenty of room in my opinion. A 24' trailer for me+1 is so much space we're considering moving into it, so for a small family as a hard-shell tent plus amenities, I think you'll have plenty of space. I feel like $8500 is a lot, but when I think about how much time I've put into my restoration/renovation I think you are certainly in the "fair price" ballpark. I would want to pay less, but sometimes the extra price for a fully working piece of machinery is worth it. Maybe have someone in the area from these forums check it out before you buy to make sure it's what the seller says it is. If it is, you're looking at a lot of fun and great memories with your family. If not, you've got some negotiating room.

Here's a guide...

I just went thru this exercise in my first vintage purchase this weekend....

Price vs. Condition - Airstream Values

It's not gospel, but it will give you a rough guide, especially on repair costs of specific items in his table, as well as how to categorize it's condition.
