Looking for Valuation of 2007 Bambi

Hello all,

We are new to airstreams and would love some help. We’ve has such bad luck at trying to find a used 16rb Bambi. Tried working with dealerships and it was such a bad experience and so shady we gave up. We are also not having luck in finding any private sellers for a 16’ either.

Advice we are looking for is so that we don’t over pay for a used Bambi. NADA. Guide numbers are so far off from private party sellers, so we aren’t sure who to trust.

We are looking at a 2007 75th anniversary edition, international 16’ Bambi. It does need some minors repairs. I’m estimating about $2000 repairs and new seat cushions.

NADA says the value is $24k in good condition. But sellers wants $33k. What is a good valuation for it that is fair to both sides?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

PS, any known issues with this model? Thank you!

Hi — that’s exactly the trailer we have, and we love it!

We looked at them for a few years then bought one in 2020. The prices were around $30K around 10 years ago, drifted up to mid 30’s by 2020, then jumped up to around 40 during the Covid price increases in travel trailers, and have now drifted back down some. I don’t have current data (as you noted these sell rarely), but I would think mid 30’s for one in very good condition today.

Several folks have noted a serious problem with floor rot in the area of the fridge. The exterior vents are poorly designed plastic and can leak into the trailer. Poke around with a screwdriver or ice pick. We have seen none, but we live in a dry climate and the trailer has always been under roof. Our propane fridge did fail, which is not uncommon at 15 years, but they can be rebuilt or replaced.

If by “new seat cushions” you mean new foam and new covers that could be some serious money, and in my opinion should reduce the price accordingly.

Good luck!!

If it's the one on AS marketplace in NC, it looks a little rough. The wrap around rear windows are very cool, but you could get a 16' that's 10 years newer for a couple of thousand more. The 2007 looks like it has a couple of dents and dings on it, the stove looks shot, and by the look of the leaves sticking out of the window guards it is stored outside. The thing I would be most worried about is the subfloor replacement--the ad states that 3/4 was done by the previous owner and the remaining 1/4 done by the current. Was the leaking not resolved? If they did it themselves, did they pull the interior and do it right or just half ass it together? Possibly the second option if the second owner had to cut up the floor again.........

Hello,
Do you still own your 2007 75th anniversary edition, international 16’ Bambi? If so, can you offer sage advice to someone considering purchasing one? In a prior post, you mentioned issues with floor rot near the fridge due to poorly designed plastic exterior vents. Additional insights after owning one? I intend to hire an Airstream inspector to evaluate the condition of #63 for sale in Los Banos, California, yet would appreciate guidance from a current owner. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
