Thank you. I guess we'll still keep it in the back of the diesel.

At least one forum user has modified his trailer with a built-in generator (a 31, if I remember.)

It was/is possible to special order one from the factory. I have seen one trailer at Top of Georgia with this option. Unfortunately I don't remember any details about it other than it was there and installed during production.

One option is to extend the tongue and strengthen it with room for generator. A front plug also helps unless you want it hard wired. Call the factory and talk with Chris Burch x 7413

I too have seen a 34' with a genset. I was a rear twin floor plan. The genset was a factory install under the curb side twin bed.
I think I would try to go to bed first, and get the street side bed!

My '89 Excella 25' has a generator that looks factory installed to me. It is street side under the rear twin bed back of the water heater. PO ran it once years ago and then changed the oil. Last summer when we got it home my son and tried it. It started immediately!! We didn't check the output. PO said it was noisy as a lawn mower. We will vouch for that - whether inside or out !!!!!

Well I stand corrected. I kinda figured if ya talk to the factory and have the right amount of money ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. NOW that you mention it, I think I remember someone modifiying a trailer for a GENSET. I dont remember if there were pic's . HOPE I didnt miss lead ya SETBLASTER .I didnt say it could not be done or hadn't. In MHO I think you are better off rite where you have it.

I installed a 2500 Microlight in my '66 22 foot safari (see my photo gallery). Sold that trailer last November.
Have started installing one in my 30' '05 Classic, and will be starting a thread within a week or two (too busy doing the work to be posting much) ...

Silver Streak occasionally had them as options from the factory. A/S also in the 1970's if one searches other threads on this subject. I've even seen a Streamline picture of what could be a factory-boxed generator on the rear bumper [extended] which was complimented by the trunk how having two side doors instead of one main door. All anodized and nicely done. One wanted to buy the trailer just for the item.

I had briefly considered buying a trailer that was for sale in NW PA (Erie, PA area as I recall) several years ago. It was an early 2000 model year, and either a 30' or 31" trailer, with the generator installed under the rear queen bed.
We had the factory option remote generator plug installed on our 2004 30' Limited. This included a plug at the front of the trailer, and a transfer switch hidden (too well, I might add) in a compartment in the back and beneath a rear twin bed. We bought a power cord at the factory that connected our generator directly to this plug, and whenever we ran the generator, the transfer switch automatically transferred from shore to generator power.
