Another Price Increase???

Has anyone noticed the latest price increase??? We ordered a new 06, 30' Classic in oct with delivery on Jan 3/06---The $$ MSRP was $69,993. On the airstream web site they are currently showing an MSRP of $71.113 for the same unit. Looks like I slipped under the wire just in time. I'm wondering when this upward spiral is going to stop. When Harley Davidson got "hot" they did the same thing. Now only the wealthy can afford them. I suppose demand drives everthing.---Pieman

IMHO, vintage prices have doubled doubled in the last 4 years, so us vintage seekers are hurting worse than you newer types, relatively speaking. It's still nice to get a nice vintage trailer ready for the road for $12K or so--small in dollars but long in time (as someone else said, if you count our labor at $0.02/hr).

I looked at a gorgeous 25' front-bedroom Safari with dual wrap-arounds on our local dealer's lot last Saturday... it was only $51k and change... the new 34' tri-axle is pushing $100k now? Whew! They're certainly a little out of MY league! But then, so is a new $57k Excursion...

Roger -- that's almost 10K more than we paid.

It sounds like we made a better investment than: If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1,000.00. With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left. But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.00. Based on the above, current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle. It's called the 401-Keg Plan.

Prices did indeed rise. I was told in Dec. when I picked up my 19CCD that due to big increases in steel and aluminum costs, the A/S line was going ot go up 5-8%........ouch!
