Hi there! I am looking for some ballpark info on price. Camper is about 3 1/2hrs away in northern NH and I haven't gotten to see it yet, but I have pics! Camper was a restoration project that didn't get done. Interior mostly gutted except for bathroom. Supposedly has new tanks (must be grey/waste tanks because no propane tanks on it) and new wiring. Newer AC unit. Thoughts?
I would agree with the posting from InsideOut... also check the floor. Is it a replacement? I rather doubt it as it is painted white. Is it a second layer of plywood over the top of maybe spongy wood? If so, that means a shell off restoration. There are a few crumples I can see from the photos. Not too bad if you are handy with metal work, otherwise might get spendy. Depends on how fussy you are.
It could be a really nice trailer, however. Great size, and a lot is in there to work with. Appliances are expensive. Especially the refrigerator.
I would certainly go look at it. Have the seller show you how everything works that is there. Be sure the bath water works, etc. Make sure no leaks. See if lights work, brakes, etc.
Unless one has the time, tools, $$ and other resources I would tend to advise anyone to spend a little more up front and get a trailer that needs less work. It may be cheaper in the end.
If you have the time, tools and tallent, negotiate a good deal and have at it!
Well, I have decided to pass on this unit after speaking with the seller again. Just too much needs to be done and I don't have that time. I am very handy and fix and build things, plus my Dad builds antique cars, so I am not afraid of a project. But, it is that whole time thing!!!! If anyone sees a reasonably priced trailer, airstream or other, please let me know! Looking for something 2500lbs or less. Again, not afraid of cleaning and cosmetic work, but I need something to start with! I think that is what I wasn't happy about with the other one.....at least if I had cabinets and things to use as a template, I could fix up.
