2008 International 23d

Looking to buy my first Airstream. Like the FC 23D. Got a lead on a 2008 International 23D. I know you folks can't see it, but if in good condition what ballpark should it be valued at? Thanks for the help.

My guess: about $35,000 would be a fair price. Haven't seen many drop below $30k.

What I have seen agrees with what what mutcth says. I would note that a good-sized solar system and upgraded wheels and tires would cost about $3-4,000 if you were to add them, and we are very glad we added them to ours. You should factor that into your thinking, especially if the one you are looking at already has them.

They're asking 38k. Don't think it has any of the upgrades. I've only seen exterior looks to be in good shape.

New ones list at about $70K, and sell for over $60K, so buying one a few years old saves some real money. I have not seen that the 2006-2008's have depreciated at all in the past three years -- probably due to the improving economy and annual new Airstream price increases. You won't see many of these for sale, especially since that vintage was the recession era and Airstream sales took a real hit.

If and only if it is in very good condition consider making an offer you can live with.

The really big difference in value to you is condition. Used trailers can vary widely. How heavy was its use and did they take great care of it. Or not. It's fairly easy to make these look good on the surface.

Is the plywood subfloor rotted, cabinets worn or damaged, all equipment working properly, filiform corrosion progressing along the exterior panel edges, under rivets, on fixtures, corrosion underneath? Get someone who knows what to look for on Airstreams to help you, they have their own issues.

The unmolested, pristine trailer is worth much more than one with serious hidden problems.
