1974 Safari 23ft

I have come across a 1974 Safari 23footer that appears to be in overall very good condition. What is a good (reasonable) price for this trailer?

Michael, there are a lot of variables as you know. I recently looked at a 66 Safari for a fellow that "appeared" to be in good shape. Lots of hidden rust, no water heater, no AC, black tank issues and on and on. Yes the trailer looked great, skin was really nice and interior was nice and original, but after about an hour of looking and making notes and telling the man how much it would cost if he fixed it much less paying someone and he quickly saw that it was not a good deal for him. I guess what I am trying to say is look very carefully, it might give you some bargaining power on the price. I'm up in Oxford, wish I was a little closer to the coast, I'd take a look at it with you.

Bruce, thank you. The trailer is up in Eugene, Oregon. I am hoping to find someone in that area to take a look but so far no luck due to lack of active members near Eugene. It is long drive to Oregon from the Gulf Coast based on just a few pictures. If it happens, it happens. I need to either trade my trailer or sell it before this could work out anyway. I am hoping to find a buyer at Canopener.

One thing I was told by an experienced Airstream guy is that they if you are buying and older unit they "ALL" will need floor repair its just the nature of the beast. I have not looked a huge number my self but so far he is correct every trailer I have seen needed at least some repair. The exception is trailers that have been restored already of course but even then your really need to watch the quality of the work. I have really had to bite my lip a when looking a trailer with so called solid floors. I have also seen some very questionable floor "repair". One guy just poured epoxy over the bad parts, one guy used 1/8 overlayment to cover the rot, one guy used 2x6 boards some how and said it was a great repair.
