1952 Cruisette

Hi all,

We are offering to buy a 1952 Cruisette from a family member. We want to have a general idea of a fair purchase price. It appears to be in good external repair but needs significant internal repair. Can someone help us determine how much we should offer?

While pictures always help, that is, from my understanding, a very rare trailer.
I doubt many of us here a really qualified to help you with a price on something that’s akin to chicken teeth. Only manufactured for two years and about 1,000 sold in total if my info is correct. Thought to be the smallest airstream ever made until Der Klein Printz showed up on the scene.

Maybe Joe, the resident historian here can chime in, I’m sure he, as well as the rest of us, would love to see extensive photos.

Since it’s family, it could go either way, but maybe you can reach a price you both feel good about?

Did I mention pictures?

Thanks and best of luck,

As a vintage trailer owner, and a big fan of small trailers, you sure got my interest! Pictures are really mandatory for anyone to give a guess, the aluminum bodies are so expensive to work on. The condition of the floor is also a big variable. Good luck with this, I hope it works out for you.

Only about 76 total Cruisettes were made in 1951-52 with serial numbers from 8000 thru 8075 currently known.

This is the smallest production model Airstream ever made. Listed length was 15', though I have heard they were actually closer to 14' 6" in length.

The 13' Der Kleine Prinze was a "one of one" prototype.

I would be interested in learning the serial number and seeing photos to aid in our understanding of these early models.
