Here is some additional info on Thor...this is not an endorsement to go off any buy stock....it's offered at face value to reinforce the comment that Thor is in a cash positive situation:

Could it have been Thor?

Could Thor have been the major public company that offered Monaco 50 mil for it's assets?

There aren't too many major RV builders left, and of the one's left, not many with lots of cash to do something like this:

Monaco Coach receives $50M offer for main assets - Yahoo! Finance

You're right on that...wouldn't have guess it. One reason I thought it was Thor is that there was a posting on Yahoo Finance that was designated a Thor story....but Navistar......wouldn't have even been my 5th guess.

That link wasn't fully functional for a while since posting. It's now fixed. The link takes you to a membership site. Kip, can you summarize what it says for those who won't join?

I need some more Tee's to make my life smile.

Should I expect new art shirts at International?

Dexter axles Going Going G...?

Sorry for the post above,

Dexter Axle Files Notice on Plant Closing
RV Business
Friday, March 27, 2009

Dexter Axle has filed a notice with the state of Indiana, detailing the company's plans to close one Elkhart, Ind., facility and displace about 119 workers, according to The Elkhart Truth.

The company initially announced the closure of the axle assembly plant in January. A letter sent to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development in mid-March fulfills the company's obligation under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act of 1988.

About 95 production and office employees at the plant will lose their jobs along with another 20 to 25 who were laid off earlier, said Jessica Shetterly, director of human resources. The job terminations will begin around May 25 and the facility should be completely closed by July.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 90, Local 1315, represents about 70 production workers.

Dexter is consolidating operations in Elkhart and North Manchester, Ind., into plants in Fremont and Albion, both in Indiana. A handful of employees from the facilities set for closing have been offered positions at the expanding plants, Shetterly said. Some of those offered jobs did not accept.

Once the Elkhart facility is empty of production, Dexter plans to put the property up for sale, Shetterly said.

In addition to the axle assembly plant, Dexter has its company headquarters and two chassis operations in Elkhart. The chassis plants have laid off employees as demand for the product has declined, Shetterly said.

The closure of the axle operation will not impact the chassis facilities or the company's plans to keep its headquarters in Elkhart, Shetterly said.

The city and Parks Dept are working on it - also Ft Ward SP. Most everyone feels it would be a shame to lose those parks to development, so the swap should work. I realize the State's in crisis, but it really seems short-sighted to give up so many fine State Parks because of a money problem we'll have forgotten about in a couple of years. We have a friend who is a State Ranger who will either end up in Eastern Washington or possibly out of a job altogether.

Just saw an eagle fly by the window. Come on up!

Thanks for the offer, we do miss the smell of low tide. Glad to hear COBI is working on the swap, of course with the fun you're having with the Mayor and City Council, it could take a while! Arizona is having the same Park crisis, also. Send pics when you get the new dear.
