RV Direct

Does anyone have experience with buying direct thru RV Direct. I got a quote on 2015 FC 25 Twin and it was $12,000 less than three other dealers. Am I missing something?

They do seem to have some below market prices. Just wondering, are they an authorized Airstream dealerships?

Hi,

NO sir, you are not missing anything. RV Direct has been in the business of internet selling of RVs for 15 years now and have gained the reputation for having the best price anywhere.

I worked for Bates RV for many years and was the Airstream specialist. When Bates RV sold the dealership, I joined the RV Direct team who is a huge online seller of numerous manufacturers and Airstream is one of them. RV Direct is able to offer discounts due to the volume of Airstreams we sell. I will not mention prices here as this is not the place for that. I will be sending you information in a separate email.

I filled out a inquiry with RV Direct not too long ago, then on a Sunday a different dealer called me about my inquiry. It was strange, but I had asked RV Direct for several quotes including one for a 2014 Airstream.

The dealer that called was following up on the inquiry for a 2015 unit, then asked if I would be interested in a 2014 model and sent me info. Turns out it was the exact same 2014 unit I got a quote from RV Direct on but he was asking for a considerable amount more money.

Then I told him I had already got a quote for the same model thru RV Direct, then he lowered his price considerably. Top it off, the paperwork said Bates RV, different then Tampa RV that called, and for sure not RV Direct.

I got very confused and the salesman was pushing for me to put a deposit on the unit sight-unseen with a credit card right there over the phone.

The whole experience just sketched me out. I ended up buying a unit from Patrick Botticelli Colonial and was really happy with that transaction.

.
Just curious:
Who does the normal dealer prep prior to the owner taking ownership? Or is delivery direct from the factory?
How does RV direct take care of warranty issues when they occur?

Looks to me like RV Direct is a blanket dealer under which RV One operates 5 dealership across the country. Two of which are Airstream dealers in Florida, Orlando RV and Tampa RV.

In short, it appears that RVdirect is only a creative web interface for those families of dealerships.

Hi All,

Sorry if it has been a bit confusing since RV Direct became an Airstream dealer when Bates sold out. Yes, RV Direct is strictly web division of RV One. Customers purchasing an Airstream have their choice of Tampa or Orlando to pick up their Airstream Trailer or Interstate. Additionally, Albany is available for picking up the Interstate. Airstream does not allow for factory pickup and relies on the dealer to final prep the unit and provide follow on customer support. Customers purchasing an Airstream from RV Direct will have the unit prepped at the location they choose and will receive a comprehensive orientation along with assistance on any hitchwork that is required. Now that I am handling all of the Airstream contacts/customers for RV Direct, communication should go much smoother. For additional information on how RV Direct works, please send me a private message and I will help in any way I can.
