MSRP Varies Dealer to Dealer?
Hi,
In shopping my deal around I have noticed that MSRP varies from $56K to $59K. So one dealer going to $54K from $59K makes it seem like a better deal than the dealer going from $56K to $54K
If the manufacturer suggests a retail price shouldn't it be more universal nation wide?
I was under the impression AS sets a standard price and does not allow the dealer to advertise lower or higher for that matter. You can get those email offers and negotiate lower price but they can't put a lower price tag.
Fender guitars does this. EVERY new same model Telecaster is advertised at exactly the same price nationwide by dealers. Many examples but the price is ALWAYS the same....
Trying to maneuver the world of dealers......sigh....

Small differences in equipment will change a MSRP. Different tires, different faucets, different whatevers. Delivery charges will be different.

MSRP, by its very definition, is set by the manufacturer. Base MSRP for each model+floorplan combination is shown on Airstream's website. As mentioned, there are some options that affect the base price like 2nd AC units, convection microwaves, extra awnings, etc. There's a list-price list for all that as well, somewhere. If you're comparing apples to apples the MSRP should be the same everywhere as the starting point for the negotiation. Maybe one of the "lifetime warranty" dealers includes the cost of that in what they call the MSRP?

Cool!
Where would I find what the base model would cost?
It seems like one I'm seeing with highest MSRP has exactly what's in the brochure....
Thanks,

Ask any dealer providing you an MSRP price to provide the following breakdown:
1) MSRP for base model
2) MSRP for installed options
3) Freight and delivery, if they are including these in the price they are quoting you

Airstream has their own MSRP and it should be on the sticker.
Shipping is the same whether it is shipped to Ohio or California.
If a dealer is adding on. Ask them to show you AS sticker, not theirs.
Any dealer playing that game is not MY dealer.

Spoke with AS this morning and yes they set MSRP without destination charges.
Now it's frustrating as the dealer posted another of what I'm buying at list of $1200 less for exact same!
There may be extras but I was not informed of any.
I guess a little ammo for final price show down!

The MSRP of each base model AS is shown on the AS website. For example, the MSRP of the base model for the Classic 30 is "starting at $149,900." Accessories will add more. As others have said, I understand that the delivery cost is uniform independent of the delivery site.

Ronnie for the win! When you visit dealers, each trailer should have a "sticker" in the unit. Usually they are on the dinette table.
MSRP is uniform, and shipping is the same whether it's to Haydocy in Ohio or Airstream of Utah.

This is the document I received from my dealer. Pretty clear.
The second image is part of the same document but cut out to eliminate signatures and dates
My contract has the discounts and taxes.

One other possible explanation. Airstream has occassionally increased the MSRP midway thru a model year, so two seemingly identical Airstreams could show a different MSRP if built at different times. Doesn't happen often, but can happen.
