Looking at a 1965 Overlander - what do you think?

My girlfriend and I are looking to get out first airstream. We want a smaller one to tow behind our small truck (tow capacity of 4000 lbs), and came across this.

We want to do a custom interior, so the stripped nature doesn't bother us. We just don't have a lot of experience with Airstreams and wanted the advice of the forum. Is it a good price? Anything you see that is a major problem?

It is 3 hours from where we live, and we thought it would be good to get some advice before making the drive to inspect it in person.

Any advice/help is appreciated!

If your truck can tow only 4,000 #. This coach is too big. You would need a TV with a minimum of 7,000 towing capacity. This will give you a safety margin.
If you do buy it. Be prepared to spend BIG $$$$$ to make it livable.

Appears to be another trailer that someone had great plans to redo.

Enjoy,

There are pictures in the craigslist ad he linked in the first post in this thread, or at least there were earlier today.

Check the thread I posted on small tow vehicles. With the right set up you can tow that Overlander fine.
They are great trailers, the right size and weight to be practical and enjoyable.
Guess you realize how much work It will take to get the one you posted back on the road and able to camp in..?

Okay now that I have seen it I say 750. To at a max 1500. Anymore than that and you will not have the money or drive to finish it. On American pickers they buy junk from hoarders but this thing is done so cut the oxy and let it go.
Jyho thanks for reading
