Dramatic Increase in Used/Consignment RVs and Trailers
I live in the Phoenix West Valley area. The lots are busting at the seams with consignment RVs, MHs and trailers. Prices are still high though. I imagine that if the consignment rigs don't move, those prices are going to come down to free up lot space. I'm not in the market, but I keep a casual lookout of what is available. Who knows, if the right deal comes along, I might be compelled to add a small MH to the stable.

Yep. COVID purchase. Seeing the same thing with "vacation" homes. We were about to purchase a place right before COVID hit. Prices went crazy. Seeing some of the same house come back on line.

I sure hope the RV fad is fading, because camp site prices have skyrocketed or become very difficult to find in some areas. But I’ve seen the same trend. All those SOB’s will be tumbling in price.

The big question is will prices for used Airstreams actually sink or will they stay at their pandemic highs?

Love my 2014 23d that I bought used 4 years ago. No problems for the most part and I’ve been living in it for two years now. I feel very fortunate.
New house comes out of the ground this year god willing, but even if so I have another year in the Flying Cloud.

They’re already dropping. The biggest drop I’ve seen was earlier this week. $22k. It’s not the only one.

2018, very frustrating. I had cabinet damage as well. Unacceptable.

IIRC it was a 5 or 6 YO FC25. It was priced at around $65k when I saw it, so it had been priced high $80s.

Irrational exuberance among sellers has contributed to inflated prices for trailers that were never worth near as much as the asking price. Coming down out of the stratosphere doesn't mean the bottom is falling out. The prices I'm seeing today after a quick scan still seem quite a bit higher than warranted.
And one must be ever mindful of one's own confirmation bias.

Agreed. That's why I'm still watching and not buying. We still have a way to go. I have a budget in mind and we're not there yet.

We had some leaks over the years and had to replace refrigerator. The '05 also suffered quite a bit of filiform corrosion.
In 2013 we traded the '05 for a lightly used 2012 23FB. We used it for almost a year. We towed it 15,000 mils and camped in it for 148 nights. The 23FB was fairly trouble free, but we did have to replace the air conditioner. We decided that the 23FB did not work as well for us as the 25FB.
In 2014 we traded the 23FB for a new 2015 25FB. This trailer has been great. We have never had a leak and have not yet had any major problems. We have now towed her 72,000 and we have spent 651 nights in her. She has developed some minor filiform corrosion, but we are just not going to worry about it.
We have been extremely fortunate with the '15. We are afraid to replace her because she has been so good to us.

I think you have been blessed. Since the filiform corrosion began and I got initially aggravated, I decided to not stress and instead use my years of automotive restoration experience to kick in and basically stop and hide it and remember it does not effect the function of the camper. I guess in a way it gives it character.

Supply and demand apply to all products. The glut is building fast. Add storage, registration, insurance and monthly payments people will start cutting out their cash hog by reducing the price now. The person that waits till late Summer might be better off just giving it back to the bank. This is assuming fuel stays near 5$ and they bought it in the last few years.

Covid swung the pendulum to BUY!
Families saw a way to get out of the house and still social distance.
Once all those RV's were out there, the pendulum swung back to SELL!
Campgrounds are too crowded, parks are full.
It reminds me of a quote by the philosopher, Casey Stengel:
"Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded."

Does it seem like a lot of trailers are hitting the used market?

Good one!
I think that was a Yogi Berra quote. [emoji4]
