Cosmetic fixes prior to sale

We are planning to sell our 1992 Sovereign 21' (elderly mother lives with us and we just aren't able to use it right now).



Interior is in excellent condition with newer fridge and toilet, laminate flooring, and reupholstered couch. The exterior shows its age though. The aluminum has the clear coat from that era that is splotchy but we don't plan to remedy that prior to listing.


In addition the blue striping is mostly worn away. I feel like repainting the blue is a reasonable DIY project - but how important is it to be done for listing? Is that a turn-off in this market or will it really not matter?

Brother, in this market they'll buy anything, in any condition. I wouldn't give it a second thought (or first for that matter).... 👍

Wash the grime off of it, and call it good. Sure, stripping all the old clear coat, and at least making it look homogeneous may add to the appeal, but most people would look at this task and think that it is a very easy DIY project, so wouldn't bother to haggle over it.

The biggest bang for the buck ever is to have the trailer polished, but, again, the average buyer doesn't know what it costs to have that done, and doesn't think of it as a requirement.
