Back on Track for our AS dream

Hi all!

2015 and 2016 were just a blur in our family! So many family events and happenings. So we are back on the search for our AS dream. We are considering a 2014 30' FC from A to Z in Winters CA. The price looks good, $66K. Have you heard anything pro or con about this vendor? Have you heard anything about the 2014 FC that we should know? We have only looked at AS in Texas in Buda and Dublin. Just don't know about buying from a non-AS vendor.
What do y'all think?

Thanks so much!!

How many AC units does it have, and are they ducted?

I think you'd want 2 in Texas, and ducted would be quieter.

Here is a somewhat recent thread

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f348...le-138547.html

We bought from the EUG AS dealer in 5/2015 (new FC20) but A to Z had been on my radar. Having grew up across the river in Contra Costa Co. the location caught my attention as it is pretty rural and not where you might expect anyone selling AS's. As a kid, our family used to go thru Winters to buy oranges by the 50 lb? (huge) bag on our way home from Lake Berryessa (and still do when we're heading up/down I-505). Thinking about it, it's actually pretty central and close to I-80 & I-5, the Bay Area and Sacramento and all those residents, and thus good demographics for his RV rental business. It's also near (45 min maybe) the AS dealer in Suisun City/Fairfield. Maybe the service department might have a comment.

Good shopping and happy trails

Bob

p.s. This may just be a name coincidence but there used to be (from what I hear a very reputable having lived in Sonoma Co not too long ago) AS repair/etc company in Santa Rosa called Vinnie’s Northbay Airstream Repair ( http://www.vinniesairstream.com/ ) that just relocated to the S of Sacramento area. The thread above indicated Vinnie of A to Z. Jus saying...may be worth checking out. At a minimum Vinnie's Northbay likely is aware of Vinnie of A to Z.

2 ACs, not ducted and full awning package. The thing I like about it, is that it has a real couch, not the L seating. It also has the fold out wooden tables in front of the couch.

Thanks SeaLevel and CruizinDux!!

We lived in CA for over 30 yrs. Know where Winters is, so that didn't bother us. Just had not heard of the dealer before. We are in the Austin TX area now.

The 2014 FC 30' is the best Airstream ever.

I might be a bit biased though.

We visited there a few times and spoke with Vinny. Our impressions were mostly positive, he seems like a decent guy, not pushy. That said, don't expect super clean trailers. He doesn't seem to spend a lot of time cleaning his inventory. Some were smelly, some dirty. It's definitely a fun visit, but limit your expectations.

We did not purchase from him, so I can't speak to more than the visit. Good luck!

Price seems about right. I saw one in FL. with two recliners instead of the couch and it was priced at $57,995, but I don't know if it had two ACs and the awning package. Another with the "real" couch and two ACs in Louisiana, listed at $68,000. I trust you have been checking the classifieds on this site.

Dealer in Winters

We bought our trailer from Vince (notice, this isn't Vinnie!) in Winters last fall, and have been very happy with him and the trailer!

That actually sounds like a Classic and not a Flying Cloud.

Saw this and thought I'd close the loop on Vinnie. see posts 28, 29, 31

I'm sure going to bookmark his location.
