2000 Bambi - Right Price?

I've got a line on a 2000 Bambi. I haven't actually seen the unit in person but the price seems reasonable to me. The description states that the unit is in very good condition except for a "couple finger sized dents to the exterior caused by kids playing in the neighborhood". They want $6400. Is that a reasonable price? Seems to be right in the middle of the NADA for that type unit and from what I've observed, AS seem to fetch more than NADA. Thoughts?

Feedback appreciated.

I saw this ad, and did a google search on the vin 1STCMAA12YJ513062 and found that it was being sold in several locations across the country, that makes me suspect.

$6,400 heh? That's the exact amount that some scammers put in their advertisement. Where did you find the info (on-line, craigslist, paper, ebay, etc)? And if they put 6400$, it's clearly not local. Post pics or whatever info you can for us. Also the serial number if possible. I promise nobody will buy it out from under you.

If you have a chance, look at our ebay scams thread, and some others here.

Whatever you do, do not send any money anywhere without an inspection. And if they put you off on the inspection, red flags should be flying high in your mind.

There are lots of people on this forum that would gladly inspect a distant trailer for you if you need. So,whomever is selling should be willing to let you set up an inspection.

Oh, and if the ad says shipping is "free", that is also common of scammers.

Good luck, but be cautious, and be willing to consider advice from others here on the board.

The price is way too low, be very careful.

You guys are right. Fairly obvious scam since it seems to have been posted on other sites - same VIN. I just thought that since it was the local Craig's List and <possibly> I could see it, it might be real. Thanks for waking me up!

Good catch. By searching on that VIN, I found that it was sold on Canada's ebay, with a California cell phone number: $26,162. It is also on the craigslist for several cities in California. Also Houston TX. Also a local Canadian sales website. Interesting...

Remember what happened to Bambi's mother? That is what you will want to do to yourself if you send off $6,400 for this trailer. If you can't touch it, hold the title in your hands, and pay for it at the time you are hooking it up to your tow vehicle, then it isn't a real Bambi for sale.

If you would have contacted the seller you might have found out that he is in <insert country here> where his <insert relatives name> is gravely ill and waiting for a <insert favorite organ here> transplant. The trailer is currently located in the ebay warehouse located in <select far away city> but he will ship it for free. You will have the right to return it if you are not satisfied with the trailer.

Interesting, I looked at the eBay listing, the description says that it's a 16' but the photo's are of a Bambi 19'.

I liked the quote:

"P.S. I am not advertising my trailer anywhere else and I will not end the auction early to keep it fair so bid with confidence! The winning bid will get the trailer!"
