20% off of MSRP

Hi - 20% of off MSRP for a 2025 27' Globetrotter the exact way we like it - are we overpaying or is it ok? thanks for thoughts!

Certainly is a good time to buy an RV. Some thoughts:

How does this price compare with other local or nationwide dealers like Colonial Airstream in New Jersey?

Does the deal include any extras? For example, is a W/D hitch for your tow vehicle included in the price, and will they install it?

If you have to have warranty service done on the trailer after purchase (it happens), how easy is it to get appointments, or travel to the dealer?

How much time do they plan to spend with you for the inspection and walk-through, demonstrating all systems are functional and working?

Does the dealer have a hookup to let you stay in the trailer overnight at the time of pickup, to confirm all systems are usable and address any small issues before you take off?

Does the dealer offer any discounts on common accessories you might be interested in purchasing at time of pickup? (things like tire pressure monitoring systems, NOLOX door mod, Easy-Start A/C modules, etc.)

Sounds about right. Discount from msrp varies from dealer to dealer...having bought two new rigs over the years, our discount has probably averaged at 20%.

We talked to the man who sold our Airstream to the original purchaser. He said 20% off MSRP is pretty normal. Airstream won't let him advertise anything but MSRP on new, current-year models. Once the trailer is last year's model, though, he could advertise it at whatever he wanted.

We are currently at 24% off msrp on a new 2024. They need the old ones off the lot. We are expecting another 2-3% off before we make a deal

We got about 15% off in 2023 just after the big Covid trailer rush where there was a year wait and people were paying retail. We were thrilled at the time. Anyways, I'd be ok with 20% since it's everything you want, maybe beat them up a little to throw in some extras. It seems like a PIA to shop around and maybe get a few extra percent from what it sounds like.

Thanks!

Thanks all - I contacted two other dealers, one with the exact same trailer on the lot. In the entire Midwest it appears there is only those two GTs in the configuration and interior color we're looking for, so might be tough to get more off I assume. But will see what the pricing comes back with of this one other one and where we go. Thanks for the advise!

Lots of factors to consider when looking at percentage off MSRP.

Time of year
Model availability
Incentives
Dealer

I bought a new 2024 in late Oct of 2025 and got 27% off list and it was from one of those conglopmerate nationwide dealers, who also paid the full freight to ship it from Ohio to Illinois between their dealerships. Had I known Aistream was going to have a make someday today promo, I could have snagged an extra couple grand on top of that 27%. Asked if they'd do the same deal on a 2025 same model, options, etc, not a chance...best I'd be able to get was 22% on a model that had a price increase, but no demonstrable difference between 24 and 25, so I saved a bundle and went with the 24. It was Camper's Inn, previously Airstream of Chicago. Dealership didn't give me the warm fuzzies, but they had the best deal.

During the pandemic, no off MSRP at all and wanted my trailer before I got the new one....seriously was not going to happen....also Airstream of Chicago and were very arrogant, which made me reluctant to shop with them for the new trailer, but they beat the other folks on the east coast and midwest by at least 6% and I didn't have to drive out east to pick it up or pay to have it shipped to Illinois.

Average discount I've gotten in the past on Airstream trailers has been 19%-20%.

Thanks and had similar experience with Airstream of Chicago / Camper's Inn. Price on a new 2024 was decent but trade in offer was an insult. Like $13k below another offer I had from another Airstream dealer, I told them so and that was the last I heard from them. Locked in a 2025 now at 19.5% and is exact specs / colors we wanted and just an hour away from us. Hope there is no surprises on the trade in value after I bring it up for inspection - but if they hold close to their offer via pictures, I think we're ok.
